The ROM & CPU daughter boards are my tested 100% "reference" PCB's that I use during my repairs so the issue is not related with them.Īny ideas what might be the culprit of this? Sound CPU? Sound ROM (another big package flash that I cannot re-burn). The "garbage" is like "talking samples" in fast forward. the coin sound, kicks, punches, character shoutings etc) are 100% but there is a background garbage during gameplay instead of music. Instead there is a simple garbled rithm.Ģ) The "effects" (i.e. ġ) The music on demo screen is not there. The game is 100% playable, the graphics are 100% correct BUT. Then I burned the Tekken 3 (TET1 VER E) program onto new flash chips and the PCB finally booted. Then tried to re-flash the memory chips where I realized that the flash chips cannot be read or re-written properly. After regressive examination of the PCB I eliminated the track corrosion possibility and focused on the flash memory chips (which the main program resides) and the the two SRAM chips (which I do not have a clue regarding their purpose). I just repaired a Tekken 3 (Namco System 12) PCB from the point of a black screen with constant rebooting to the point where graphics and playability 100% but with sound issues.
